RE: 1997-2000 XL 40'
Hi Jim,

Welcome to PrevostGurus! Smile

I pulled this off POG:
"Vision Coach's were made by the same folks that made Pacific Coach's. I think they are now Premier. I understand they had some legal issues causing them to change names. I have also heard that some of the original people who had coach's made by these folks were also part owners. I have owned a 1995 45' Vision for several years, and am well pleased with it. They were the first converter to use solid granite for flooring, some counter tops, ect. Lots of features I enjoy is the construction methods used (solid interior doors, sewer dumps on both sides, curved dash, louvered and vent fans in the battery/inverter bay door, large volume tanks, ie 200 gal fresh water, ect) It does not have bus air, but does have 4 roof top A/C's."

That's about all I can find on Vision coaches. I'm sure they're a perfectly fine converter; after all, the Prevost chassis is what we're all really after.

I think most of the 40 footers were done by California converters and most of those converters are probably now out of business. To me an orphan converter isn't an issue as long as schematics and documentation are available. That'd be my first question. I like to work on my house electrics. I don't want to get wrapped up into a converter's proprietary house control system, so full house electric schematics are important to me.

There was a downscale Liberty, I guess it was the Classic. The Elegant Lady has the 24V house system. As you know all prevost's have a 24V chassis system. With a 24V house system about the only thing that runs on 24V is the inverters but inverter efficiency is much better at 24v than it is a 12V plus the converters can downsize the wire a notch or two from say 4/0 to 2/0.

Sparky, eh? I like it! Smile
