Folks,

Turns out this replacement catch does differ from the originals in a significant way. The extension of the metal latch is less when in the latched position: 0.22" versus 0.31" for the original.

so can you post a pic of how the new latch will look David ? Seems I need 2 and might just as well have a few spares. Thank you in Advance . I will be sure to keep in mind you are a busy dad and don't have all the time in the world for a New Vantare owner Smile

well David I have found put that there is a screw on extension for this latch and I hope to find them and fix this one ASAP so the wife wont move my furniture lol

Al, do you have a pic of that screw on extension. The Amazon piece works on some of my cabinets where the catch on the cabinet doesn't require the full 0.31" rise of the latch. I'm still looking for the perfect replacement. I'm sure Vantare has it and Donnie Myers and others.

David, I do hope one day to be able to load Pics from my Android to the computer for posting but till then I have used good old reliable texing . So on your phone you will find 3 pictures please do post them when able to show what is needed to extend the latch . I do understand these are not a easy find so when replacing a broken latch it is best to save these. Being a hoarder I was lucky enough to still remember where I put this one making it easy to find Smile

Yuppers. Smile Just click on "New Reply", scroll down to Attachments, select "Browse", open the pic you want from your cellphone gallery, then click "Add Attachment". Easy Peasy!
