I did test and with key on light was still lit . Now I will check to see if it tries to charge with key on .

It'd be useful to try to get the schematics for your coach. Have called Vantare corporate headquaraters in Suffolk, Va? They may be able to send you an electronic copy. They did for me.

so with key on it shows 11.87 or so , key off 12.47 . But the red light is still on so I do not know if I'm protected from backflow . It may have been a change years latter so you would have it .

You and I are probably both due for new chargers. Unplug the charger and use your multimeter to read the voltage at the receptacle with the key turned on and off; although, judging from what you're saying it sounds like it is ignition key switched. What model charger is it? SpongeBob runs a now obsolete 24V 15A Guest 2616A.

This would be a good choice: https://www.batterystuff.com/battery-chargers/12-volt/multi-bank/2-output/28210.html. It has isolated outputs, or the one Chuck used, the Marinco 28220.
