This is great news Dave....Congratulations!!
Hi Dave,

How many boards are in each Inverter? Is it 3? Great Job!!
Hi Prodriver,

Thanks for your support. There's one power board in each inverter which drives the three transformers. On each power board there are three MOSFET H-bridges, one H-bridge for each transformer. It really is three inverters in one. This is why it's an expensive design compared to todays high frequency inverters, and most likely why Xantrex obsoleted it. In part, because the high frequency inverters lack the Trace's magnetics (transformers), they don't have the grunt to start heavy loads.
Today I received my capacitor bank PCB as well as a set of Cornell Dubilier (CDE) 6800uF capacitors. This is one of the improvements that I'm making. I removed the CDE capacitors from the power board PCB and put them on their own PCB. This change makes upgrading and replacing failed capacitors much easier and much cheaper, plus I get to use a larger and modern capacitor from CDE's current product line.
Way to go David nothing but the best.
David, since I'm not terribly far from you will it be possible to bring up my spare inverter for a change out sometime?
Looking for a reason to escape this heat anyway. I'm sure you are aware of Jeff at East Tenn Coach or whatever the proper name is
& the guys at Tradewinds in Deland, Fl definitely can become customers.
Absolutely John. I'll be receiving 5 complete board assemblies in a couple weeks. These are full power builds with heavy copper PCBs and plated copper busbars. Once I test them they'll be available for retrofit. I will be traveling in the coming weeks. I'll PM you to let you know my schedule.
Sounds good David. You can definitely put me on your list to get a prototype. My business will be
ramping up in a couple of weeks & might not frequent the board so please feel free to call me
at 803-829-4242. Thanx, John
Count me in also David , and thank you for taking on this project for us all .
Rhudney at Ayala has been working his magic on production boards. I should have them in my hands next week:
