If you are considering updating the décor in your bus at a reasonable price, here’s a tip. Take your bus to “The Upholstery Shop” in Bullhead City, AZ. The owner “Walt” is an experienced “Pro”. He owned and operated the largest upholstery shop in California before retiring and moving to Arizona. Boredom set in after a while so he opened his small local upholstery shop. Business has been brisk and it keeps his five-man shop humming.

Bullhead City is a favorite wintering location for “Snowbirds” arriving each winter in their RVs. Many take the opportunity to have their RV’s décor replaced or repaired during that time. Walt also does a lot of boat and motorcycle upholstery work.

The thirteen-year-old fabrics in our bus was beginning to show their age. We had been gathering estimates from several vendors in the coach interior update and repair industry ever since we purchased our bus last year. Marathon estimated the job at $9,000 and we received several other estimates ranging from $6000 and up to nearly $10,000.

Walt’s estimate was $2810 including the fabrics and three days to complete the job. We selected good quality fabrics which was priced at $42 per yard. We needed 24 yards. Walt and his crew did an excellent job. They professionally removed the sofa, bar stool seats & backs and the window valances from the coach and reinstalled them after finishing the re-upholstery process.

I’ve attached a few before and after photos.

Chuck
Walt and his workmen did an outstanding work with your coach. How far in advance you have to order the fabric?
Do they also do cabinets?
Hi Hish,

It took about a week to get the fabric as it came from Charlotte Fabrics in Minnesota. Also, Walt needs about a week of lead time to schedule the job in. They do not do anything but upholstery. He did comment on the quality of the sofa. He said it's the best he has ever seen in a motorhome.

Here's a pic of Walt's place

Thanks Chuck
We are not sure of our timing as we will going to see Dr. before we leave Florida, some times these guys want a 70 year old to be like they i are in their 30's. Hope that is not the case with this guy.
Anyway Walt did a great job.
Hish
very nice
