I have been looking on and off for sometime now for an older Prevost. I may have found one. It is a 1998 Vantare XL40 being sold by Premium Coach Group.

The coach seems to hit my two big deal breakers which are over the road air and cruise air verses roof mounted.

My question is has anyone dealt with Premium Coach Group? The coaches they sell seem to be very clean and marketed well.

Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for in a 20 year old coach besides the basics such as batteries, maintenance records, age of tires?

Thanks,

A friend bought a 2000 Liberty from them. Make sure you get in writing all the details. FYI
Well Jerry said it best, I Found one !

She is a 1998 Vantare Non Slide 45. The main reason for me to transition into the Prevost was due to the difficulty of qualified chassis support throuout the country . As you can imagine driving close to 30k miles a year does wear on a RV , even one as well built as the Wanderlodge. Now don't get me wrong as many of you guys know the BB community is vast and willing to go the extra mile to help , but after 220k miles on 2 BB over the past 8 years it was time to move on to a proven road warrior .

I want to add It is real nice to be back with many of the early friends we have made over the years who have also moved over from the Wanderlodge . We look forward to many post and some rallys around the country . Boy these post used to end with , Now lets Fix some Birds ,lol Well I guess we will just talk about how great these Prevost are and how to keep them that way . Cheers Guys

I am back to looking. The one I thought I found did not work out.

I would like a 40', but there are some nice 45's on the market. My other half is saying 45' is too long. I say what is an extra 5'? I don't think I can win this battle.
where did you get the Vantare, Al?
Hello Ernie , I bought her from the old Parliament . They now call it USA Luxury Coach . To be honest with you I was not really looking for a new coach . Don't get me wrong I wanted a riveted Prevost but I always felt sales men knew that , so I would just pass. So here I'am in Clearwater for a visit with Ron Ruckwald who had a chair for sale and also my daughter and son in law live there. Well as they say They Made me a Deal I couldn't refuse Smile

Jerry , You know I know a few guys on this site who love the 40' Prevost and they know coaches , so maybe they will chime in soon . For me I'm a open road kind of guy who has no desire to take my coach in little old state parks , nor do I plan to drive in the inner cities , lol I'm a open country guy who takes a trailer full of toys to a location and then does some exploring . So I think it is best to determine what you want to do and find the best coach you can afford and go do it . Like I said when Jim and Robert have a moment they can share there thoughts after all I'm a Newbie Smile
Congrats Al on your new coach. You can't go wrong with a late model XL. Should be bulletproof. I'm with you on the open road thing. I've said it many times, "my coach is compass that points West". When we go I head for the interstate and I put the pedal to the metal (well not really, but it sounds good, LOL)! I have precious cargo on board so I really putt around. Truthfully, when it comes to county roads I'd much rather be in my toad or on my bicycle. So tell us more about your coach. How many miles? Any pics! Happy Trails!

Keep looking Jerry, your bus is out there!
Good Morning David & Fellow Gurus,

Man I'm a fish out of water this morning , lol like a child on Christmas morning I was on the road at 4am ( couldn't sleep ) and now at the coach figuring things out and Erika is cleaning Smile Man do I have questions but for now I will just try not to brake things and look around her .

Reminds me of new BB owners who would call me and ask questions about where this or that is and sharing with them one of BB hiding spots , lol So that's me this morning but man do I love how organized the systems are .
The bus I thought I found was put back on the market. Tomorrow I am flying down to Premium Coach Group just outside of Phoenix to check it out.

What they are telling me, the bus has complete service records and had a complete service performed back in November. I need to do a bit of digging understand what they mean by "complete" service. The batteries are Lifeline Group installed in 2014. I am not sure how long Lifeline batteries last. I hear they are a better battery, but I am sure after 5 years, they are ready to be replaced.

They are also saying that new Xantrex 4000 Watt inverters were installed, but when I check out Xantrex website, I can't find a 4000 Watt, unless they mean two 2000 Watt. More questions need to be ask.

I did do a carfax and all looks good. There is a red flag when checking out yelp reviews for Premium Coach Group. I contacted the people who wrote the reviews and they cautioned to have the bus checked out by an independent shop and not someone Premium refers you to. If all goes well and comes to that point, I will see if South West Charter located in Phoenix can check it out.

If anyone knows of any particular items I should look out for, please let know.

Thanks,
