Congrats on your new coach Jerry, let the good times roll!

Prevost has a small service center in Newark but the last time I was at Prevost Mira Loma, Delene Whitford told me that they were in the process of building a much larger, state of the art facility in Newark. I don't know if the new one is open yet or not? The old place only had 2 bays or something like that, good for a quick oil change but not much more according to Delene. The new facility will be all indoors, no outside parking. Not sure how that is going to work but the city of Newark will not allow outside parking in the area of the service center...but maybe that has changed, we will see.

Enjoy your 8 MPG with your 40 footer, I have been averaging 8 MPG with mine as well...about the same as my M380 when I had it.
Al, Yes, the OTR air was surprisingly cold. On my last stop, I found a Prevost XL manual in a draw that explain how to controls the temperature for the drive and the rear.

I only ran the generator after I stopped for the night. Since my batteries are about 4 years old, I was not sure how long they would last running the cruise airs along with the refrigerator, so to be safe I ran the generator. Next weekend, I am planning to take it out to our local casino parking lot and due more testing with the batteries to see how long they will last before they get below 50%.
Jerry , I'm with you , no plan to run the air units while we are sleeping without the genny . When you think about all the hours we used the genny in the bird no reason not to use the geny overnight . Man after all its good for 20 or 30k hours anyway .
Congrats Jerry,

I really like the 40's. They are the sportscar(bus) of the bunch, and I'm seriously envious over your fuel mileage. Here's a link to a troubleshooting manual for your transmission: PrevostGurus->ForumTools->Library->Other->allison_transmission_md3060_trouble-shooting.pdf (The manual is for the full range of Allison transmissions). Section 6 describes how to read stored codes. Simply depress the up and down arrows simultaneously and the display will show the first code, scroll through the codes by pressing the Mode button.

The transmission not going into drive could be low oil, a faulty selector pad, or a faulty speed sensor. The speed sensor issue is fairly common; should be an easy fix.
Thanks Dave.....I will take a look at the codes.
